Book Your Dream Vacation now

If you’ve never experienced a Canada fly in fishing vacation, there is no time like the present. It will give you the relaxing vacation you deserve.

Picture yourself on a calm evening under the sun, with no other boats in sight and the sound of the loons serenading you.

Your float plane trip is part of the experience, so we never bring fuel or supplies in with you , except fresh fruit and vegetables of course.  Our fly in Canada fishing trip is all you’d expect and deserve when visiting “The Land Of The Midnight Sun”

Your fly in fishing vacation will start with the short float plane ride from Yellowknife to Hearne Lake Lodge.  It is only a 20 minute flight so keep your camera ready to capture the spectacular scenery as you fly over the Canadian shield country.

Discover Unlimited Beauty

Depending on group number we use either Air Tindi or Ahmic Air. They are the best fly in fishing float plane services. They are both extremely professional and courteous.

We utilize a variety of planes, from the Cessna 185,  Beaver, Cessna Caravan, Turbo Single Otter, to the grandaddy of them all, the Twin Otter.

You can check out all these craft on their web sites.

Fly In Fishing Lodge

What can you expect during your Canada Fly In Fishing Lodge Vacation?

Your floatplane charter to the lodge will leave Yellowknife as soon as logistically possible upon your arrival.

One of the advantages of only catering to a max of 8 at one time is we will work very closely with you to ensure a problem free experience for you and your friends or family.

You will be arriving at the lodge 20-30 minutes after departing the float base.

Our trips are 3, 4, 5 or 6 full day adventures.  We will work with you to ensure you have as much time on the water as possible.

Check out our frequently asked questions page for more information.

Welcome to paradise

After arrival, you will want to get on the water as soon as possible

While you are assembling your rods in the lodge and having a quick lunch or snack, Ken will go over the lake structure and depths and provide you with a map and all the knowledge you will need that first day.

The great fishing starts at the dock where you will get instruction on operating a four stroke outboard motor.

Safety is our main concern and all the boats have radios, maps and signaling devices.

There is also no need for a bone jarring 30 mile ride to get to fish.

Once you’re set, away you go, to explore the lake with its many bays and islands.  Once you get your feet wet so to speak, and want a little more information, Ken is always available to spend time with you.

He tries to spread his time with anyone who wants to learn a few local techniques.

Your First Trip

You will be guided your first trip up river for Grayling.

Once the first trip is complete, if you wish to return you can go on your own. Our Ideal Clients are moderately experienced fly and traditional fishers who don’t need a fishing guide or want a stranger in their boat. Many of our clients would rather self-guide the boat and call the shots.

In other words they are just like us, love fishing and want to fish Canada’s north with a friend or relative without a guide and at the same time have all the support you need.

We provide the group drop camp atmosphere, but still provide all the safety and luxury of a full lodge.

We live at our lodge year round so we can also provide free internet and phone service to US and Canada.

Did we mention we can also supply fly rods for those who want to experience this wonderful sport?
